Duke’s Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine provides comprehensive evaluation, counseling, and care of both normal and complicated pregnancies. The physicians and staff at Duke Perinatal Consultants work with your primary obstetrician to ensure that you have the best possible pregnancy outcome.

Our Fetal Diagnostic Center provides a number of services, including:

• Routine and detailed obstetric ultrasonography
• Amniocentesis
• Chorionic villus sampling
• First trimester screening
• Maternal serum screening
• Extensive genetic counseling

Research includes etiology and prevention of preterm birth and low birth weight, perinatal infections, placental physiology, and maternal complications including hematology disorders and obesity.

Our offices are staffed by board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialists (perinatologists) and we are accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).
