Duke chaplains, in partnership with the rest of the health care team, provide spiritual and religious care for patients, families, caregivers, visitors, and staff throughout the Duke University Health System.

Through clinical pastoral care, chaplains manifest the spiritual dimension of Duke Medicine’s mission, facilitate collaboration between the Duke University Medical Center and Duke Divinity School, and strengthen the relationship between the health system and religious communities at large.
We operate independent departments at each of our inpatient medical centers:
Our Multi-Faith Relations Coordinator and members of the department have developed a resource pool of community religious leaders, chaplains, and representatives of world religions and spiritual paths who have volunteered to respond to specific requests for care.
