Designed to help patients living with lung disease reach maximum recovery, the goal of the pulmonary rehabilitation program is to help patients who have been ill or disabled by a lung disease return to a more functional and productive life. Improving your quality of life is our top priority.
Led by pulmonary care specialists and a staff of physical therapists and respiratory therapists, our program includes a complete diagnostic workup, psychological and family counseling, and individualized counseling for self-management and independence through medication management and physical conditioning.
Anyone living with lung disease can benefit from our program. Lung diseases include, but are not limited to, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD or emphysema), lung transplantation, pulmonary fibrosis or interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, and lung volume reduction surgery.
We offer four tracks, all of which meet Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.:
Program fees and/or co-payments depend upon your insurance coverage or method of payment – and may be reimbursable for patients diagnosed with pulmonary disease. Generally, participants are eligible for 23 sessions. For more information about Duke’s pulmonary rehabilitation program, call 919-660-6619 or 919-660-6658.
