Duke offers consultation by regionally and nationally recognized experts for patients with biliary and pancreatic disorders and includes a multidisciplinary approach with the Duke departments of surgery, radiology, and oncology.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) are particular areas of expertise within the biliary service, with physicians performing approximately 2,000 procedures each year.

The heptobiliary/upper GI team treats the following benign pancreatic and biliary disorders:

• Complicated biliary disease
• Acute pancreatitis
• Chronic pancreatitis
