Duke Children's provides diagnosis and the most advanced therapies, as well as consultation, for children and adolescents with endocrine or metabolic diseases.

Pediatric endocrine services offer comprehensive treatment and management therapies for children and adolescents with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, as well as disorders of growth, sexual development, sexual differentiation, thyroid function, bone metabolism, and hypothalamic-pituitary function.

We specialize in treating obesity and impaired glucose tolerance, as well as hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipidemia.

Dedicated pediatric services and programs include family and group sessions that focus on the daily management of diabetes, a summer camp for diabetic children, and evaluation, management, and special clinics for children with obesity, insulin resistance, and Prader-Willi syndrome.
