Eating disorders affect the lives of all family members.
Duke Center for Eating Disorders offers sibling workshops where participants have the chance to talk about what it's like living with a sister or brother who has an eating disorder.
The group atmosphere is lighthearted and provides support and education about eating disorders. Group members leave with a better understanding of the important roles they play in their families, and learn how they can be most helpful in the recovery process.
Each participant also leaves with their own “self-care” package. Half-day workshops take place on a weekend, twice each year.
