The Duke Center for Eating Disorders Training Clinic is designed to provide top-notch training to clinical psychology interns, psychiatry residents, Duke graduate students, and non-licensed practitioners who care for patients with disordered eating.
Our center is committed to providing high-quality care to the community. Our training clinic allows us to provide individual and family therapy at reduced rates.
The clinicians providing services are students -- including interns and residents -- nearing the end of their training or practitioners who are completing the supervision hours required to be licensed in the state of North Carolina.
All clinicians in the training clinic are supervised by licensed clinical psychologists in the Duke Center for Eating Disorders, and the supervisors oversee all aspects of treatment.
Our center takes a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of disordered eating. Once we have completed the initial evaluation, our treatment team designs a treatment plan that is tailored to each individual’s specific needs. The treatment plan includes a selection of the following services:

The Duke Center for Eating Disorders provides training to clinicians in existing, empirically-supported treatments for disordered eating and body image and cutting-edge behavioral interventions being developed and tested in our facility.
Trainees conduct individual, group, and family therapy and are supervised by licensed clinical psychologists at Duke with expertise in the treatment of eating disorders. They attend seminars, case conferences, and have the opportunity to participate in research.
