The Duke Center for Eating Disorders is hosting a silent auction and art show on August 12, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the West End Wine Bar. Tickets are $15 at the door (cash only).

Proceeds from the show will be used to fund the development of a Web-based treatment program that allows families who cannot afford or access eating disorders treatment to receive the affordable care they need.
Our hope is that the art will provoke conversations related to eating disorders and decrease the stigma associated with mental illness.
Our show includes work from over 40 local artists in a variety of mediums, including paint, fashion, jewelry, tapestry, and more. Gallery C, Studio 123, Blue Bus Studio, Vintage Garden, and Jill Hackeny Studios have all donated pieces of their collections for this important event.
Featured artists include Cathy Spargo, Melody Dozard, Katie Seiz, Arlie Harris, Tim Gavin & Kathy Drake, Harriet Hopkins, Alicia Sands, Bridget Whitlow, Pam Epperson, Emily Lee, Denny Hood, Donna Robertson, Heather Evans-Smith, Nancy Lemanowicz, Liz Esser, Nancy Kramer, Eva Miller, Rashida James-Saadiya, Ana Abdula, Maren Ashy, Holly Fischer, Peggy Payne, Gopal Soora, Patricia Oxford, Lisa Costello, Bob Rankin, Judy May, Lisa Jones, Lori Elliot, Beverly Currence, and Fiona Place.
Artists interested in donating their works should do so by August 9, 2010. Contact Lisa Honeycutt at 919-684-0353 or e-mail lisa.honeycutt@duke.edu for more information.
