Do you need help working with your child’s teacher or obtaining all the academic support your child needs?

Duke psychiatrists offer school consultation to assist in identifying a child’s educational and behavioral needs at school and developing and implementing a plan to meet those needs.

As part of the consultation, we will:

• Observe your child at school
• Discuss classroom interventions and accommodations with your child's teacher
• Attend formal meetings, such as IEP or 504 meetings, with parents their child's school

We will work together with the parents and teachers to ensure that children with ADHD are able to succeed in the classroom environment.

Telepsychiatry to Schools

Telepsychiatry uses computers, microphones, and video conferencing to deliver clinical services to patients.

ADHD specialists at Duke offer telepsychiatry to rural schools and students who might not be able to drive to Durham to receive expert treatments for their ADHD.
