Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Evaluations

Share

Duke offers comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults to determine if patients are experiencing difficulties due to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or other psychological concerns, such as anxiety or depression.

After evaluation, we provide individualized treatment recommendations that improve your difficulties at home, school, work, and in your relationships. We also assist you with coordinating your care across physicians, teachers, and mental health providers.

ADHD Indicators

If you or your child has problems with several of the following tasks, you may want to consider an evaluation for ADHD:

  • Completing work, chores, or other tasks
  • Following instruction from others such as parents/teachers/colleagues in daily activities
  • Disorganization or losing things often
  • Not paying attention to details, making careless mistakes
  • Restlessness or being “always on the go”
  • Staying seated when necessary
  • Doing things quietly
  • Blurting out or interrupting

Second Opinions

Duke ADHD specialists offer expert assessments for patients who are seeking a second opinion about diagnosis or treatment of ADHD. Our clinicians are skilled at offering care to patients with complex ADHD who have multiple areas of difficulty and for patients whose needs have changed due to age or maturity.

Our comprehensive evaluations are designed to re-assess your difficulties, answer your questions, and provide treatment recommendations, even if you've already been diagnosed.
