Duke's critical care anesthesiologists are involved in all aspects of the medical management of patients recovering from surgery or trauma in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Our board-certified anesthesiologists are specially trained to treat life-threatening illnesses in a compassionate and skillful manner.
Treatment
We direct your medical care and manage vital functions, including heart rate, blood pressure, hearth rhythm, body temperature, and breathing.
The patient in ICU may require acute or long-term support of vital organ function. We use recognized techniques for support of critically ill individuals.
