• Cancer and Diabetes Support Group

  Learn how managing diabetes can help reduce risk of infection, prevent cancer treatment interruptions, and improve quality of life. Meetings are held every Wednesday in the 0 Level Conference Room of the Duke Cancer Center from 11:00-12:00.

• Baby Care Class
  Wednesday, June 19, 2013, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  A hands-on class for soon-to-be parents or caregivers coving the basics of newborn care/appearance through the first month after birth. Includes: comfort techniques, swaddling, diapering, bathing. DAD/SUPPORT PERSON ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
• Pre-Operative Orthopaedic Class
  Thursday, June 20, 2013, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
  Duke Raleigh Hospital offers a Pre-Operative Orthopaedic Surgery Class for total knee and total hip replacement patients and family members. The class covers what you can expect before, during and after joint and spine surgery.
  
  We will provide you with helpful information, useful tips and answer any and all of your questions.
  You will meet your patient navigator that will be working with you.
  This class occurs every Monday and Thursday.

• Mind-Body Approaches to Coping with Cancer

  Patients with cancer are invited to participate in a class to learn mind-body approaches to coping with cancer. This group meets on the first and third Thursday of the month.

• Prepared Childbirth Class Series
  Saturday, June 22, 2013, 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  Educators trained as Lamaze certified childbirth instructors (LCCE) teach all classes at Teer House. The series of classes includes information and practice sessions on: signs and stages of labor; role of the dad/support person; vaginal and cesarean births; comfort measures including relaxation and breathing techniques; pain management options; coping with unexpected outcomes; hospital routines. This 2 class series will be Saturday/Sunday June 22 & 23. Expectant parents are encouraged to complete the series between their 30-37th week. We recommend you attend the hospital tour prior to beginning this series since some dates may conflict. Register early, space is limited.
  
• Harris & Smith OB-GYN Saturday Childbirth Class

  Harris & Smith OB-GYN is now offering childbirth classes the fourth Saturday of each month. These classes are ideal for couples who are unable to commit to multiple weekday classes.
