Patients may be referred to our program by their physician in consultation with one of the Duke Adult Blood and Marrow Transplant (ABMT) physicians.

If the ABMT physician and the referring physician decide the patient should come to Duke for an evaluation, the patient will be instructed by her or his physician to contact our intake coordinator.

The intake coordinator provides patients with all the information they need prior to coming to Duke for the first time and works with the referring physician to obtain tests and other records.

Three dedicated financial counselors assist patients with insurance issues and necessary authorizations.
