The Duke Raleigh Hospital Sleep Lab is available to patients suffering from a variety of sleep disorders.
This multidisciplinary center provides the community with comprehensive care and greater access to both equipment and physicians. The new facility contains more beds, which allows physicians to study, diagnose and treat more patients.
Common conditions that can be treated at the sleep lab include:
- Snoring
- Sleep apnea
- Restless leg syndrome
Sleep problems, particularly sleep apnea, that go undiagnosed or untreated can lead to life-threatening health concerns, including heart attack and stroke.
The Sleep Lab provides more comprehensive care across a variety of disciplines. Otolaryngologists and bariatric surgeons have been added to the sleep lab, because many sleep issues can be caused by allergies, throat infections, and obesity.
