Shelley Wroth, MD: Extended Bio

Shelley Wroth, MD, is an obstetrician/gynecologist and integrative physician at Duke Integrative Medicine. She specializes in combining evidence-based conventional medicine and recommendations for complementary therapies to support women's health with herbal medicine and supplements, yoga, acupuncture, body work, and mind-body approaches. She has a strong interest in integrative care for menopause, cancer survivorship, fertility, pelvic pain, and heavy periods, as well as planning for optimal health for all women.

Dr. Wroth obtained her undergraduate degree from Yale University, and her medical doctorate from the College of Physicans and Surgeons at Columbia University. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Duke University Medical Center. She was a recipient of the Bravewell Fellowship, and completed a two-year fellowship in Integrative Medicine through Dr. Andrew Weil's program at the University of Arizona.

She is also a yoga teacher and is currently enrolled in the Helms Medical Institute training for medical acupuncture. Her goal in her practice of medicine is to help people get the tools and support they need to lead the life they want.
