Research Interests
The majority of my effort is devoted to clinical care of patients with advanced lung disease and teaching. I am the Vice-Chair for Continuing Medical Education for the Department of Medicine.
My current research efforts focus on examining the relationship between poetry and the practice of medicine. My particular interest is in evaluating the utility of poetry in improving communication skills of physicians in training. I am involved in on-going collaboration with Duke faculty in the liberal arts and other health professionals.
This physician has no reported relationships with industry.
