Clinical Interests
Diagnostic consultation in leukemias, lymphomas, and other blood diseases; flow cytometric immunophenotyping; cell-subset analysis in HIV infection; cytogenetic and molecular diagnosis of congenital disorders and cancers; diagnostic consultations in diseases of the liver and biliary systems

Research Interests
My research interests are in the area of lymphomas and leukemias.

1. Multiparameter flow cytometry in the diagnosis and prognosis of hematopoietic and lymphoid neoplasm : We are studying the role of multiparameter flow cytometry in diagnosis of a) acute myeloid leukemias with myelodysplasia associated changes; b)acute myeloid leukemias with monocytic differentiation; c) chronic lymphocytic leukemia with atypical immunophenotype; d) ZAP70 and other prognostic markers in chronic lymphocytic leukemia; e) T/ NK cell lymphomas in spleen.

2. Extranodal lymphomas: The two areas of special interest are ocular adnexa and orbital tissue and liver. Retrospective analysis of a large series of ocular adnexal lymphomas was completed. Similarly hepatic lymphomas will be classified according to the current WHO criteria.

3. Biology of non-myeloablative allogeneic stem cell transplantation: Role of morphological and molecular diagnostic methods in appropriate care of patients undergoing this mode of treatment.

Industry Relationships and Collaborations (What's this?)

This physician (or a member of their immediate family) has a working relationship (i.e. consulting, research, and/or educational services) with the companies listed below. These relations have been reported to the health system leadership and, when appropriate, management plans are in place to address potential conflicts.
