Treatment of malignant and benign tumors of the brain, spine, base of skull, and prostate; intensity modulated radiation therapy; stereotactic radiosurgery
Research Interests
I specialize in the treatment of malignant and benign tumors of the brain, spine, base of skull, and prostate. I am particularly interested in using highly conformal techniques, such as intensity modulated radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery, to minimize radiation exposure to normal tissues.
My research interests include optimization of radiosurgical techniques and rational integration of novel imaging modalities (e.g., functional MRI, PET) and targeted agents (e.g., bevacizumab) into oncologic care.
Beyond technology, patient care requires compassion, judiciousness, collaboration, clear and open communication, and commitment to safety. And while I treat cancers aggressively, I believe strongly in the importance of quality of life. The cancer journey is complicated and involves difficult decisions. I consider it a privilege to be able to help guide my patients and their families along this path.
