1. General Focus and Goals of Research: Dr. Hoenig's research focuses on quantifying rehabilitation interventions, and then identifying their effect on the causes and course disability.
2. Specific Approaches or Techniques: Randomized controlled trials, epidemiological studies including large data base analyses and survey research.
1. Clinical trials: Randomized controlled trial of motorized scooters for persons with difficulty walking, quasi-experimental trial comparing diverse methods for providing wheelchairs, randomized controlled trial of telerehabilitation.
4. Special areas of expertise/national recognition: Rehabilitation health services research, assessment of function in chronic spinal cord injury, medical education in geriatric rehabilitation, outcomes research in assistive technology.
