Effective delivery of health care extends from the laboratory to the homes of patients. Our research is designed to enhance our understanding of this process and thus to improve the quality of care that patients actually use, starting in the care of patients with various eye conditions and thence to health care in general. Specific aspects of this research at present include:
1. evaluating and improving technical quality of care
2. evaluating and improving provider competencies
3. understanding patient-centered factors that affect care use
4. coordinating care
5. assessing the impact of financial and structural features on care
