Research Interests:
I am interested in areas relating to ambulatory anesthesia, regional anesthesia and postoperative pain management, in both the adult and pediatric populations.  In the past year, I have become interested in the potnetial of combining complementary medicine techniques with our traditional pain management protocols to improve pain management, especially in those surgeries not amenable to regional anesthesia.  I have organized meetings/presentations between our division and the Center for Integrative Medicine, and will be the coordinator for research efforts in our division resulting from this collaboration.

I continue to participate in the Clinical Ethics Committee, and continue to educate myself on ethical issues in clinical medicine, especially thoase related to anesthesiology.
