Research Interests:
Ongoing work focuses on problems of immediate clinical relevance in renal and pancreas transplantation, including issues related to immunosuppression, infection, and cardiovascular events as well as hypertension.

Research methodologies employed include randomized clinical trials, cohort studies, and retrospective multivariable analyses based on the transplant database.

Current studies include multiple industry sponsored immunosuppressive agent trials and the NIH sponsored FAVORIT trial, a prospective randomized clinical trial of B vitamins in renal transplant recipients with high homocysteine levels.  The primary outcome for this trial is a composite of vascular events.  The trial has complted enrollment and is in the follow up phase.
