Vitreoretinal disorders, retinal detachment, proliferative vitreoretinopathy, macular degeneration, macular holes, macular surgery, diabetic retinopathy, posterior segment trauma

Research Interests:
Clinical investigations on complicated retinal detachment, macular hole surgery, and diabetic retinopathy.

Investigation into new concepts involving  pharmacological vitreolysis. Currently principle investigator of Durham Division of a clinical trial looking at microplasmin as an adjunct to vitreous surgery in the management of vitreomacular traction syndromes including macular holes.
