Research Interests:
My long term career interests center around anesthesia and critical care for patients with life-threatening neurological illnesses. I am particularly interested in respiratory dysfunction as the result of neurocritical illness.
Recently I have been involved with projects to explore the pathophysiology of cerebral vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage in vivo and in vitro models, the role of magnesium in cerebral vasospasm, and technical aspects of neuroanesthesia related to awake craniotomy and endovascular cerebrovascular surgery.
