A comprehensive educational resource to patients, families, and the community. Learn about Teer House
At Duke University Health System, patient care extends beyond the operating room and into the classroom where patients, health care professionals and the community are invited to learn more about the health topics that interest them.
Learning opportunities are facilitated by the Department of Education Services which is committed to being a regional and national leader in the design and delivery of continuing education to health care professionals, patients and families, and the community.
Most of the classes offered, even those in professional and technical development, are open to the interested public. The community education classes are coordinated by Teer House staff and address health, wellness, and personal growth topics across the life span.
The Department of Education Services' professional and technical development courses vary as well, including topics like Neurology Core Curriculum and Cultural Issues at the End of Life. The Duke University School of Medicine supplements these classes with a range of educational lectures and events.
Classes are hosted at a variety of locations around Durham, and a growing number are also held in Raleigh and throughout the greater Triangle area. Many of the Raleigh based classes are hosted by Duke Raleigh Hospital.
