Duke Orthopaedics offers shoulder rehabilitation and physical therapy to reduce shoulder pain and speed recovery after shoulder injuries or shoulder surgery.
Our orthopaedic doctors and surgeons work closely with certified physical therapists to ensure that each patient heals properly. This close relationship ensures that patients are referred to the physical therapist best suited to rehabilitate his or her shoulder injury.
Specialty shoulder rehabilitation services we offer include:
Sport-specific shoulder physical therapy. Many of our physical therapists specialize in treating injuries associated with a particular sport. Sports-specific care allows our therapists to quickly and accurately determine the cause of shoulder pain and design targeted rehabilitation programs and exercises for the shoulder injury.
In-house physical therapy. Many of our locations offer in-house shoulder physical therapy so patients can go to one location for all their orthopaedic needs. When this is not an option, we offer easy referral and quick appointment times for our patients to be seen by qualified Duke physical therapists.
Specialized equipment. Duke physical therapists use the most advanced equipment and technology to assess shoulder injury and assist with shoulder rehabilitation exercises. Tools we offer include isokinetic exercise equipment, plyometric training tools, isotonic weight machines and ergometers, and a heated therapeutic pool.
Expert care. All of our physical therapists are highly qualified and certified to offer shoulder rehabilitation and physical therapy. Many of them specialize in shoulder injury and exclusively treat patients with shoulder injuries, ensuring that you will consistently receive focused, expert care.
