The Division of Otolaryngology performs over 4,500 operative procedures a year. The division has a commitment to rapid (seven day) access to all new patients.

Special programs within the division include the Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery program, Level I Otolaryngology trauma care, the Comprehensive Head and Neck Oncology Center, the only Vestibular Dysfunction Center in North Carolina, a Head and Neck Melanoma Program, a Diving Related Disease Center, and the treatment and evaluation of voice disorders through the Duke Voice Care Center.
Multidisciplinary programs include the Center for Skull Base Surgery, the Cranial Nerve Center, and the Comprehensive Evaluation of Hearing Loss in children, which includes a cochlear implant program.
