To begin, the providers of Duke General Internal Medicine would like to thank you for choosing to receive your care with us at Duke Health Center at Southpoint. Maintaining your wellness and good health continues to be our priority.
We are writing today to inform you that all of the Duke General Internal Medicine providers practicing at Duke Health Center at Southpoint (Dr. Robert Paterson, Dr. Michael Meredith, Dr. Vernice Royal, and the Duke Internal Medicine resident physicians) are going to be moving to a different practice location by January 2008. This is a first step toward a bigger strategy of bringing all of Duke Primary Care closer together. We would like to apologize in advance for any inconvenience this change may cause for you.
Please note: Your Duke General Internal Medicine primary care physician is not leaving Duke. Your physician will remain within Duke Medicine, but will just be practicing at a different clinic location.
Dr. Robert Paterson will begin practicing at Sutton Station Internal Medicine on December 10 and Dr. Michael Meredith will begin on December 26, 2007. Sutton Station Internal Medicine is located just 1.2 miles from the Duke Health Center at Southpoint at 5832 Fayetteville Road, Suite 113. Please see the enclosed map for detailed directions.

Future prescription refill requests from your pharmacy for Dr. Paterson and Dr. Meredith should be faxed to 919-544-0934.
Dr. Vernice Royal and the Duke Internal Medicine resident physicians will be practicing at Duke Health Center at Pickett Road, which is nine miles from Duke Health Center at Southpoint. Please see the enclosed map for detailed directions.
Dr Royal and the Duke Internal Medicine resident physicians will begin practicing at Duke Health Center at Pickett Road December 24, 2007 and January 3, 2008 respectively. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 919-490-9800.
Duke General Internal Medicine will retain your medical records to be transferred to your new clinic at no cost to you.
