Tests and Results

Laboratory

The laboratory hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Most lab tests are drawn as part of an office visit. However, lipid panel and glucose (sugar) tests require a 12-hour fast. This means that if you come for a lab-only visit at 8 a.m., you should have nothing by mouth from 8 p.m. the night before. You may have water and black coffee.

Radiology

The Radiology Department at Duke Family Medicine is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is able to provide a variety of exams, including the following:

  • Abdomen
  • Ankle
  • Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine
  • Chest
  • Clavicle
  • Elbow
  • Femur
  • Foot
  • Head work such as sinus exams, nasal bones, and skulls.
  • Humerus
  • Knee
  • Pelvis
  • Radius/Ulna
  • Shoulder
  • Tibula/Fibula
  • Wrist and Hand

A scoliosis series must be done at Duke Clinic. This requires a special film and cassette that is not available in our office.
