To schedule a new appointment or cancel an existing one,
call 919-684-6721. Please have your insurance information
available when you call.
We are pleased to provide same-day visits, but all visits
must be by appointment.
Preparing for Your Next Appointment
Whether you’re visiting for your own health check or to hold
the hand of a loved one, we know that a trip to the doctor can
sometimes be stressful or worrisome.
Your appointment at Duke Family Medicine can be made all the
better with some preparation and a little bit of homework, from
gathering the names of your existing prescriptions to keeping
immunization records in a reliable location.
Payment
Many health plans require the patient to pay a co-payment at
the time of service. We cannot bill the co-payment; it must be
paid at the start of the visit.
We accept VISA, MasterCard, checks, and cash.
If you have an outstanding balance, you will be asked to
make payment arrangements prior to being seen. Call
919-681-2381 for more information.
For difficulty with payment for prescription medication,
please speak with your doctor or ask to speak with the social
worker.
Appointment Times
We strive to stay on time for your
appointment. Plan to arrive for your appointment 15 minutes
prior to your scheduled appointment time.
As a courtesy to patients who are on time, patients who are
late for their visit may be rescheduled.
Building Patient-Doctor Relationships
We strongly believe that building a personal relationship
with your provider is important.
Please select a physician or provider with whom you feel
comfortable and whose center hours suit your needs. Ask to be
scheduled with this provider whenever possible.
All physicians, providers, and nursing staff are organized
into three teams. If your primary care provider (PCP) is not
available, another team member will care for you and
communicate with your PCP as necessary.
Referrals to Specialists
Questions about a referral to a specialist should be
directed to 919-684-6154.
