Duke Health Navigation Services is a customized healthy lifestyle program.
Your personal health navigator begins by discussing your health goals
with you. A registered nurse -- your health navigator -- will be
devoted to working with you to determine the best approach for
improving your health.
Based on your medical history and individual preferences, a customized
schedule will be designed for you. This can be an intense, week-long
retreat with phone follow-up, or a more prolonged and in-depth program
achieved through a series of ongoing visits.
This site-based program is housed on the beautiful Center for Living
Campus at Duke University in the 30,000-square foot PepsiCo Fitness
Center, which features indoor and outdoor tracks, state-of-the-art
exercise equipment, a wide variety of aerobic and conditioning classes,
and a heated indoor pool.
Depending on your personal goals, a typical day may include:
- Physician consultation
- Personal contact and support from your health navigator
- Full use of the fitness center and exercise classes
- Personal training with your exercise specialist
- Stress management
- Nutrition consultation
- Yoga
- Massage
- Healthy meals
