Caring for a child with a heart condition is never easy, but Duke Children’s Heart Program is always working to make the process as smooth as possible. We offer support not only to the patient but to the family members as well.
Social workers are available to every hospitalized and clinic patient and their families. They can assist families with finding lodging, meal assistance, insurance issues, state or area resources, and counseling.
Child life specialists and chaplains also are available to hospitalized patients and their families.
