A stress test uses exercise or medication to increase the work of the heart while equipment monitors heart function.
A cardiopulmonary stress test is an exercise test using either a bicycle or treadmill combined with a mouthpiece for precise measurement of oxygen uptake and carbon dioxide production.
This allows us to obtain extra information about how your heart is working.
Duke offers various types of stress tests, including cardiopulmonary stress tests and stress echocardiograms.
