At Duke Heart Center, we strive to provide the best service for you and care for your patients while they see a Heart Center physician.
To refer a patient to Duke Heart Center, call the Duke Physician Referral Network at 800-MED-DUKE (800-633-3853).
If you know the physician to which you would like to refer, you may request them at the time you call. If you do not have a specific physician, the first available appointment will be given in the particular specialty area you request.
To find a physician, search the Duke physician directory.
The Acute MI Hotline allows referring physicians to have immediate access to a Duke cardiologist who can assist with decision-making regarding the best treatment modality for a patient having a heart attack.
If direct primary angioplasty/stenting is the appropriate option, the Duke cardiologist and communications team will assist in the expeditious transport of the patient from the referring hospital directly to the Duke Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, where the patient can undergo a life-saving procedure to open his/her artery.
If you have an Acute MI and want to call the Duke Heart Center for immediate transfer of a patient, please call: 1-866-MI2-DUKE
