Duke Heart Center is currently seeking people to participate in the following clinical trials:

• A randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled study to assess the efficacy of LCQ908 on cardiovascular risk
  This study is a proof of concept to determine if an investigational drug called LCQ908 can reduce triglyceride levels and lessen cardiovascular risk in people with cardiovascular disease.
• Renal Denervation in Patients with Uncontrolled Hypertension -- SYMPLICITY HTN-3
  Patients with uncontrolled hypertension are needed for a research study.
• Studies of a Targeted Risk Reduction Intervention Through Defined Exercise in Pre-Diabetics: STRRIDE-PD
  This study seeks participants between 45 and 75 years of age to evaluate the effects of different amounts and intensities of aerobic exercise.
• COPE-HF: Coping Skills and Heart Failure
  The COPE-HF study will evaluate if a 16-week telephone intervention focused on helping patients cope with their heart condition can improve quality of life and reduce the need for hospitalizations.
• Everest II
  This study seeks adults with mitral regurgitation (MR) who are seeking treatment for their condition.
• IMPACT Study
  This study seeks adults who are candidates for implantation of, or already implanted with, a BIOTRONIK Lumax HF-T or DR-T device.
• CABANA Trial
  This study seeks adult participants who have been diagnosed with an abnormal heart rhythm called atrial fibrillation (AF).
• Attain StarFix Model 4195 Left Ventricular Lead Extraction
  This study seeks adult participants who require a left ventricular (LV) lead removal
• Lifestyle, Cardiovascular Disease Risk, and Cognitive Impairment
  Adults older than age 55 are needed for a study examining how exercise and diet improve cognitive function.
• Medtronic CoreValve U.S. Pivotal Trial
  Researchers are seeking patients with severe degenerative aortic valve disease to participate in this study.
