Dr. Charles Hammond was my doctor in 1974. I was admitted with choriocarcinoma and had to stay at Duke for four months.

It was a great experience. There were very nice nurses who took care of me. One even brought me homemade soup.

Dr. Hammond was very good to me and I don't think I would have lasted for four months if not for him and the support of the nurses on that floor; it was the fourth floor at that time.

Since then, I have been considered cured of my cancer since 1980 and have two grown children and six grandchildren.

I will never forget Dr. Hammond or his kindness and expertise in getting me well. Thank you and God bless you for all the dedicated work you do for cancer patients.
