An Orthopaedic Trauma Patient Shares His Experience

“In December 2005, while working as a contractor in Iraq, the vehicle I was driving was hit with a roadside bomb. Both of my feet were severely wounded as a result.

“When my insurance company asked me where I wanted to go for medical care in the U.S., Duke was my first choice. It's excellent reputation was well known, and they did not disappoint.

“My experience with Duke ortho trauma was outstanding. Every single faculty member that I dealt with, from the nurses in my room to my surgeon, was absolutely professional.

“They were all very attentive and concerned about any questions that my family and I had. The surgeons always found time to visit with me.

“The people at the Duke ortho trauma center exemplify exactly what a hospital staff should be. I would definitely recommend Duke for all who find themselves in a similar situation.”
