Nancy LutfyNancy LutfyI am a 55-year-old woman, and I have been dealing with back problems for the past six years due to degenerative disc disease and adult progressive scoliosis.

I had always been very active but could no longer do the outdoor activities that I love.

After meeting with several surgeons I decided to have my surgery done by Dr. William Richardson, who was accompanied by fellow Dr. Alim Ladha. I had the XLIF and spinal fusion procedures and couldn't be happier with the outcome.

It's been nine weeks since surgery and although I still have some limitations such as bending and twisting, I have no pain and am already quite active.

The staff at Duke Hospital is the best! Everyone was kind, compassionate, and
highly qualified. Thank you!
