Morrisa Guay with daughter Sophia, 4, and newborn Zachary. On February 23rd, 2010, I was admitted into the OB triage unit to have a Cesarean section performed. It was there I met Sylvia Bagwell, RN.
From the moment my husband and I met her, we felt right at ease. She was amazing throughout my delivery and without her I can truly say my experience would have been different.
Sylvia Bagwell made me feel as if she were my sister or my mom at a time when it was most needed. I had a complication with my spinal-epidural, which was one of my biggest fears. She stood by me and helped me get through this experience as they worked on the procedure for two hours.
During the surgery, she was there to comfort me, and seeing her there kept me at ease. After, she helped me in every way and, again, never missed a beat.
I just wanted to let someone at Duke know that your Sylvia Bagwell is an amazing asset to your staff and you are lucky to have found such a caring, kind, and professional nurse. I cannot even say enough in words.
The other staff I encountered throughout my stay were wonderful as well, but Sylvia stands out in my eyes. My family thanks her and Duke for an outstanding job.
Thank you!
Morrisa & Alex Guay
