One year ago, I unexpectedly found out, while having an MRI for my back, that I had two brain aneurysms. I was immediately scheduled to go to Duke.
Debbie SmithAfter the initial shock diminished and I had calmed down, I put everything into God's hands. He put me into the hands of Dr. Ali Zomorodi.
On October 6, 2008, I had my first brain surgery. My family, friends, and I believe even Dr. Zomorodi himself was impressed with my quick progress.
It actually went so well that, just three weeks later, on October 31, 2008, I had my second brain surgery. It, too, was a total success, thanks to so many people at Duke.
I know I'll never be able to thank everyone in person, but I am truly grateful, from the bottom of my heart. I am 100 percent well today because of Dr. Zomorodi, his staff, the nurses, and so many professionals.
Because of you all, I am so blessed to have a second chance at life. It takes special people at Duke to make miracles like these happen. Thank you!
