Just want to thank Dr. Oren Gottfried and his staff at the neurosurgery clinic, as well as the Duke University Hospital staff for an outstanding job in patient care.

I am an anesthetist myself and have worked in several medical centers as well. I have had multiple surgical experiences as the patient, including this surgery at Duke that was my fifth spine operation.

Dr. Gottfried took a special interest in my case on our first visit. He answered all my questions in person, on the phone, and with e-mails. He explained in detail my options, his concerns, and the best plan to optimize my outcome.

I would highly recommend him to anyone needing neurosurgery for his expertise and compassion. I hope he never changes his polite and compassionate disposition as he continues his career as a gifted neurosurgeon and a wonderful person.
