Prevent a trip to the urgent care center by following these sensible summer precautions.

  • Apply sunscreen of at least SPF 15 before going outside -- even on cloudy days
  • Stay hydrated with frequent water breaks during outdoor activities
  • Wear a helmet and other safety gear when biking, skating, skateboarding, and riding scooters and ATVs
  • Secure the pool area to prevent unsupervised children from entering
  • Check metal slides first to prevent children’s legs from getting burned
  • Wear sturdy shoes (not sandals or sneakers) while mowing the lawn
If you do need urgent care, find a Duke Urgent Care Center near you to see a doctor when you need one.
