Prevent a trip to the urgent care center by following these sensible summer precautions.
- Apply sunscreen of at least SPF 15 before going outside -- even on cloudy days
- Stay hydrated with frequent water breaks during outdoor activities
- Wear a helmet and other safety gear when biking, skating, skateboarding, and riding scooters and ATVs
- Secure the pool area to prevent unsupervised children from entering
- Check metal slides first to prevent children’s legs from getting burned
- Wear sturdy shoes (not sandals or sneakers) while mowing the lawn
