Duke Eye Center offers Ulthera, the first FDA-approved non-surgical facelift.
The Ulthera System is an engineering achievement that has adapted time-honored medical ultrasound to address unmet needs in the aesthetic arena.
With the system, physicians now have a new category of cosmetic procedure with which to counter the effects of aging on the skin.
Ulthera works by tightening the deeper layers of the face beneath the skin and neck. It lifts the jowls, neck, and brows and takes about one-and-a-half hours to perform a treatment under local anesthesia.
Patients experience minimal downtime, with most patients returning to work in just one day. Tightening of the skin continues over the next three-to-six months.
