The Duke Eye Center has undergone exciting changes to make patient parking more convenient.
Construction of a seven-story parking garage began in May 2008. We celebrate its grand opening for patients January 14, 2010. The new garage provides Eye Center patients 300 parking spaces -- three times what was previously available.
Patients will enter the new Sands Parking Garage the same as before, by turning into the Eye Center off of Erwin Road.

Parking in front of the Eye Center will convert to valet parking and short-term drop off and pickup of patients. Valet parking services will continue no additional charge. Parking fees remain $1 per hour.
Parking fees for the deck will remain the same as well: $1 per hour up to six hours. Patients will no longer pay an attendant upon leaving the deck. Instead, parking payment kiosks will be located throughout the patient level parking and in the main lobby of the Eye Center.
