Duke Eye Center again ranked in the top 10 in every category of the 2010 Ophthalmology Times annual survey of academic eye centers, moving up to 6th place in the "Best Overall Program" category, from 7th last year.

Survey results were tabulated from a poll of U.S. ophthalmology department chairpersons and residency directors.

The awards recognize excellence in the teaching and development of residents, quality patient care, and aggressive research pursuits.

2010 Duke Eye Center rankings include:

• Best Overall Program, 6th Place
• Best Residency Program, 6th place
• Best Clinical/Patient Care Program, 6th place
• Best Research Programs, 5th place
