Description

You and your family are invited to join Duke Heart Center in celebrating National Heart Month at a fun-filled, family-oriented health education event.

This event will feature bystander CPR sessions for the family, heart health risk factor screenings for adults, a health fair, and heart healthy cooking demonstrations provided by Kroger.

Children will have an opportunity to participate in Kids Zumba with a national Zumba expert.

Adult Bystander CPR Classes

Adult bystander CPR classes will be offered throughout the day to familiarize the general public with the new American Heart Association guidelines for CPR.

These classes last approximately one hour and start at the following times:

  • 9:00 a.m.
  • 10:00 a.m.
  • 11:00 a.m.
  • 12:00 p.m.

When you call to register, you can sign up for a time slot.

HeartSaver AED Certification

HeartSaver AED certification is available for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED used to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

This course is from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

From Raleigh Durham International Airport: I-40 East or West, take Exit 287 (Harrison Ave). Turn south at the end of the exit ramp, go through the first light. Turn right on Harrison Oaks Blvd and the hotel is located 1/2 mile on the right. From I-40 East or West: Same as above From 15-501 North or South from Chapel Hill or Durham: Take I-40 East for 18 miles and Take 287 (Harrison Ave). Turn south or right at the end of the exit ramp on Harrison Ave, go through the first light, turn right on Harrison Oaks Blvd and the hotel is located 1/2 mile on the right.
