Getting in Shape After Baby

Bring baby and practice movements to regain core stability and strength. This 6 week series of classes is targeted to new moms who are just beginning to exercise after pregnancy. Moms should be at least 6 weeks to 3 months postpartum. If you experienced a cesarean birth, please bring medical clearance from your physician to exercise. Join us immediately after for “Motherhood: The New Reality Show”.
Motherhood: The New Reality Show

Bring the baby, pack a lunch and join other new moms as we brainstorm tips on surviving motherhood, offer suggestions for transitioning back to work, and share resources for staying at home fulltime. Class targeted to moms who are 3-12 weeks post delivery, however, any new mother is welcome

Duke Raleigh Hospital offers a Pre-Operative Orthopaedic Replacement Surgery Class for all patients and family members. The class covers what you can expect before, during and after surgery.
Hepatitis C Support Group

Provides information and support for anyone affected by HCV; for patients who have just been diagnosed, to those who are considering treatment, being treated or have completed treatment. Family members are encouraged to come and learn about coping with this disease.

Discussions with an anesthesiologist and nurses from the Duke Birthing Center cover the pain management options available during delivery at Duke University Hospital; where you will go; what to bring to the hospital and what to expect when you are admitted to the birthing center.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Join the Duke Raleigh Hospital walk team for this non-competitive walk to fight breast cancer. Duke Raleigh will participate in this event with a walk team, as well as raising awareness and donations to support the American Cancer Society.

A class touching on general information for expectant parents regarding the basics of baby care (feeding, bathing, diapering, etc.). A practical demonstration utilizing a baby model will be offered.
