Getting in Shape After Baby

Bring baby and practice movements to regain core stability and strength. This 6 week series of classes is targeted to new moms who are just beginning to exercise after pregnancy. Moms should be at least 6 weeks to 3 months postpartum. If you experienced a cesarean birth, please bring medical clearance from your physician to exercise. Join us immediately after for “Motherhood: The New Reality Show”.

Infant and Child Pediatric Life Support

Participants will receive an introduction to infant and child safety strategies along with being trained by the American Heart Friends and Family CPR standards for Infant and Child CPR. $35 for an individual/$50 for a couple.

Duke Raleigh Hospital offers a Pre-Operative Orthopaedic Replacement Surgery Class for all patients and family members. The class covers what you can expect before, during and after surgery.

Coping with Change and Losses Support Group

The support group provides a nurturing, supportive, and confidential environment for participants to share their feelings, thoughts and pain about their individual loss(es). The environment is conducive to learning from others that you are not alone in your journey through the pain.

Breastfeeding Class

Prepared Childbirth

This 4 class series (October 4,11,18,25, 2007) will include information on: signs of labor, stages of labor, comfort measures, pain management options, role of the coach, breathing techniques, vaginal and cesarean births, coping with unexpected outcomes, and hospital routines. Expectant parents are encouraged to complete the series between 33-37 weeks of pregnancy. Register early by calling 919-416-DUKE (919-416-3853). Fee - $80.

Sixth Annual Asthma Walk

Walk with Duke Raleigh Hospital for the sixth annual asthma walk benefiting the American Lung Association. Duke Raleigh raises money and awareness and walks with Duke Medicine for this event to support the millions of Americans currently suffering from asthma.
