This support group works with cancer patients to improve their outward appearance and therefore, improve their self-confidence and personal perception. Many patients comment on the marked improvement in their mental and physical health once they felt like they looked "normal." This program teaches patients how to work with their appearance to improve their self-esteem.

Taking Charge & Living Well: A Lifestyle-Based Prevention Program

This 5-class (April 24, May 1,8,16,22, 2007) comprehensive lifestyle program focuses on sound nutrition, moderate exercise, stress management, and smoking cessation to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke as well as help prevent or control such cardiovascular risk facts as hypertension, high cholesterol, type II diabetes, and obesity. The program may also be appropriate for those with a history of cardiac or other disease who do not qualify for a cardiac rehabilitation program but wan to improve their overall health and future risk of disease.
