A class focusing on the decision to breastfeed including information on: advantages and barriers to breastfeeding; how to establish breastfeeding routines; techniques to accomplish satisfactory breastfeeding; how to recognize and avoid potential challenges. Dad/Support Person encouraged to attend with Mom. Fee - $15

Getting in Shape After Baby
Registration closed
10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Bring baby and practice movements to regain core stability and strength. This 6 week series of classes is targeted to new moms who are just beginning to exercise after pregnancy. Moms should be at least 6 weeks but not greater than 3 months postpartum when beginning class. If you experienced a cesarean birth, please bring medical clearance from your physician to exercise. Join us immediately afterward for “Motherhood: The New Reality Show”.

Stroke Support Group

This support group aims to educate the stroke survivor and care giver about topics relating to stroke.

Clotting, Collards and Coumadin:What Do They Have in Common?

Discussion of Coumadin, various indications for therapy, duration of therapyl, and interactions with diet, medication, alcohol and other disease states.

Baby Care Class

A class touching on general information for expectant parents regarding the basics of baby care (feeding, bathing, diapering, etc.). A practical demonstration utilizing a baby model will be offered.

Duke Raleigh Hospital offers a Pre-Operative Orthopaedic Replacement Surgery Class for all patients and family members. The class covers what you can expect before, during and after surgery.

Hepatitis C Support Group

Provides information and support for anyone affected by HCV; for patients who have just been diagnosed, to those who are considering treatment, being treated or have completed treatment. Family members are encouraged to come and learn about coping with this disease.
